Fortnite Treasure Hunters: What Is the New One Piece Season, and Is It Worth Playing?

Pixel Wizard 6 min read

Fortnite’s new Treasure Hunters season is a One Piece crossover mini-season that replaces the entire island with a pirate map, hands players Devil Fruit powers, and runs for just over a month before a Chapter 7 finale event on December 5. If you like Fortnite’s big crossover seasons, this one is absolutely worth jumping into — and if you have been waiting for a reason to come back, a fresh map plus some of the wildest weapons in years is a strong one.

Treasure Hunters went live on November 1, 2026 with update v43.00, right after Chapter 7 Season 4, Override, wrapped up with the annual Fortnitemares event. It is a mini-season, which means it is shorter than a full season: roughly five weeks of pirate-themed content, weekly rotating captains, and a Battle Pass built around One Piece characters. Here is everything you need to know.

What is Treasure Hunters?

Treasure Hunters is Fortnite Chapter 7’s pirate mini-season, built around a full collaboration with One Piece. Epic Games is billing it as “the greatest adventure of all time,” and unlike some crossovers that just drop a few skins in the shop, this one reshapes the game: a brand-new island, a new loot pool, new powers, and a weekly event structure that changes who is in charge of the island every Saturday.

The season is live now on every platform Fortnite runs on, and it is free to play as always. The Battle Pass is the usual paid track, with One Piece’s Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin headlining it alongside anime-styled versions of Fortnite regulars like Jonesy, Charlotte, and Cuddle Team Leader.

A brand-new map: Crossbones Isle

The Override island is gone. In its place is Crossbones Isle, a skull-and-crossbones-shaped map packed with a dozen new locations, many pulled straight from One Piece. Arlong Park, Baratie Bay, Windmill Village, and Loguetown all make the jump from the anime to the battle royale, joined by original spots like Lantern Lanes, Plunder Port, Fort Fortuna, and the Rubber Resort — complete with its own duck-shaped yacht.

One big structural change comes with the new map: matches are now capped at 80 players instead of 100. That is a deliberate trade for a smaller, denser island, and it should mean faster early-game action and less time wandering empty terrain. A$AP Rocky also shows up as a boss at a location called The S.S. Rocky, where defeating him lets you raid the deck for loot.

One Piece powers are the real headline

The loot pool is where Treasure Hunters gets genuinely fun. Two Devil Fruits work as Mythic items: the Gum-Gum Fruit turns you into Luffy, letting you throw long-range rubber punches, slam down with your feet, and launch yourself across the map, while the Flame-Flame Fruit turns you into Ace, with rapid fire shots and a finishing Fire Fist.

They are joined by Zoro’s Three Sword Style — three katanas at once, with dash attacks to keep pressure on — Usopp’s Slingshot, Nami’s Tangerine for healing and a speed boost in water, and A$AP Rocky’s Shock Rocket, which launches you into the air so you can rain rockets down from above. Add in new guns like the Bundlebuss Repeater Rifle and the single-shot Gilded Dragoon Shotgun, plus throwables like the Explosive Cannon Ball, and this is one of the most playful loot pools Fortnite has had in a while.

Epic has also unvaulted more than a dozen returning weapons and items, including the Sentinel Pump Shotgun, Flint-Knock Pistol, Hammer Assault Rifle, and Slurp Juice. Gold Bars are vaulted for the season, NPCs can now be hired for free, and Vending Machines are out.

The Battle Pass: Ace and Robin lead the crew

The Treasure Hunters Battle Pass is headlined by Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin, two of One Piece’s most popular characters, alongside Charlotte, Jonesy, Kawaii Team Leader, and the mysterious Captain X. It is one of the stronger licensed passes Fortnite has done, and the anime-styled takes on Fortnite’s own characters are a nice touch for long-time players.

Eleven new Sprites join the game too, bringing the total collection to 33. The little elemental companions now come with quality-of-life upgrades, including a numbered Sprites screen, stamps showing how you earned each one, and a reworked mastery system that hands out Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks, and other Gizmos as you level them up. Mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella, which is achievable by week two if you grind.

Captain Days: a new captain every week

Treasure Hunters replaces the usual weekly rhythm with Captain Days. Every week, a new captain arrives on the island with their own crew and point of interest, and the loot pool shifts depending on who is in command. A$AP Rocky leads the way from launch, followed by Lil Uzi Vert on November 7, Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto on November 14, and Oscar on November 21.

Weekends also get Treasure Hours, replacing Power Hours, with extra loot scattered across the island. And somewhere out there, Captain X has hidden a Mega Chest — if fortune favors you, you might stumble across it.

Item Shop dates to know

One Piece cosmetics roll out through the shop across the season rather than all at once. Luffy, Nami, and Usopp arrived at launch on November 1, with Zoro, Sanji, and the Chopper Sidekick following on November 7. Buggy lands on November 13, and Kasane Teto and Cap’n Hatsune Miku arrive November 14. A$AP Rocky shop items drop November 5, and Lil Uzi Vert follows on November 12.

If you are only buying one thing, the Straw Hat crew skins at launch and Zoro on November 7 are the obvious picks — they are the characters most players will actually recognize from the show.

When does Treasure Hunters end?

Epic has told players to keep Saturday, December 5 open for what it calls an unforgettable Chapter 7 end event. That makes Treasure Hunters the final season of Chapter 7, running about five weeks from its November 1 launch. No Chapter 8 date has been announced yet, and Epic has not confirmed what comes after the December event — so if you want the Battle Pass rewards, do not leave it to the last weekend.

Is Treasure Hunters worth playing?

Yes — especially if you bounced off Override or have been waiting for a fresh map. Crossbones Isle is a genuine reset rather than a reskin, the Devil Fruit powers change how fights play out in a way most seasonal gimmicks do not, and the weekly captain rotation gives you a reason to come back each weekend. The 80-player cap is the one change worth watching: it should make matches punchier, but players who love the chaos of full 100-player lobbies may feel the difference.

The verdict is simple: this is Fortnite at its most Fortnite — a huge licensed crossover, a new island, and weapons that let you stretch across the map like Luffy. Set sail before December 5, because when the Chapter 7 end event hits, this island is gone.
