Conan Exiles Enhanced Is Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Early 2027 — And the Upgrade Is Free

Console players have been watching the PC crowd enjoy Conan Exiles Enhanced since May. Now Funcom has finally put a window on the console version: Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027, and if you already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One, the upgrade is free.

Funcom announced the console versions on October 27, alongside a trailer and a detailed FAQ. There is no exact release date yet, just the early 2027 window, and full cross-play is planned to arrive soon after launch rather than on day one.

What Conan Exiles Enhanced actually is

Enhanced is the overhauled version of Conan Exiles that launched as a free update for Steam players in May 2026. It upgrades environments, character models, lighting, and visual effects, redesigns the user interface, and adds performance improvements and quality-of-life changes across the board. It is not a sequel and it is not a remaster sold separately on PC. It is the game, rebuilt to a modern standard, and console players are now getting the same treatment.

The biggest structural change is how the two maps fit together. In Enhanced, the Isle of Siptah expansion is folded into the same experience as the Exiled Lands, so players can travel between the two without switching servers. Siptah itself remains a separate purchase, so this is a change to how the maps connect, not a free giveaway of the expansion. For players who have treated the two maps as separate worlds for years, that seamless travel is the single most noticeable difference in day-to-day play.

Console players will also arrive with a head start on content. Funcom says the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc and every new Bazaar item released on Steam since May will be included when the console version launches.

The free upgrade, explained

The deal is straightforward. If you own Conan Exiles on PlayStation 4, you get the PlayStation 5 Enhanced version free. If you own it on Xbox One, you get the Xbox Series X|S version free. Going forward, buying either version on a console family grants you both: buy the PS4 version and you get the PS5 version too, and the same applies on Xbox.

On consoles, Enhanced is a separate game from the version players have today, which Funcom is renaming Conan Exiles Legacy. That split is where the fine print lives. Everything you have bought carries over to Enhanced: Crom Coins, Bazaar items, DLC, and Twitch Drops all move across. What does not carry over in both directions is new spending. Items bought in Enhanced will not apply to Legacy, and once Enhanced launches, Crom Coins will stop working in Legacy altogether because the Bazaar is being disabled there.

Legacy is not being deleted, but it is being parked. Funcom says it will receive only critical bug fixes, with no major new content, no Bazaar, and no official servers.

Read the save-transfer details before you switch

Most players will move over without drama, but there are two catches worth knowing about before launch day, and both come straight from Funcom’s FAQ.

First, characters, followers, and bases on official Exiled Lands servers carry over untouched when those servers become Enhanced. That is the clean case, and it covers the majority of the console player base.

Second, bases built on the Isle of Siptah cannot be preserved. Folding Siptah into the Exiled Lands required moving the island’s physical coordinates, and that means Siptah builds do not survive the transition. If you have a Siptah base you care about, treat the switch as a fresh start on that map and plan accordingly.

Single-player saves have their own warning. A save opened in Enhanced cannot be reopened in Legacy afterward, so the conversion is one-way. If your console setup allows save backups, making one before you convert is the obvious precaution. Funcom has also said more detailed preparation instructions for players and private-server hosts are still to come, so expect a migration guide closer to launch.

Cross-play is coming, just not on day one

Funcom has confirmed full cross-play for Conan Exiles Enhanced, but it will arrive soon after launch, not alongside it. At launch, console players will be playing the Enhanced version with its upgraded visuals and unified maps, but cross-platform play is a follow-up step.

Why Funcom is doing this now

Timing is part of the story. Conan Exiles entered early access in January 2017 and launched in full in May 2018, which puts its tenth anniversary in sight. Funcom CEO Scott Junior tied the announcement directly to that milestone, saying the studio is excited to continue supporting and developing the game for hopefully ten more years.

Something to play while you wait

Console players do not have to sit idle until early 2027. Part Three of the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc arrives on November 10, with Akhamet taking a bigger role in the quest. Funcom has promised more details when the update goes live, and it gives current console players a concrete date to look forward to while the Enhanced launch window firms up.

The throughline here is simple. Conan Exiles Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is free for existing owners, it brings the console version up to the standard PC players have had since May, it unifies the two maps, and it sets up cross-play shortly after launch. The only real homework is on the save-transfer side: check whether your base sits on Siptah, back up a single-player save if you can, and wait for Funcom’s migration guide before you make the jump. Everything else is good news, and it costs nothing.
